What you need to know about filing your Unemployment Insurance claim at WorkOne and Online.

Due to recent changes in both federal and state unemployment insurance compensation policies, the length of time you may be eligible to receive unemployment insurance benefits has been extended. For more information on how these changes may affect your claim, please visit the Department of Workforce development’s web site or call the Department of Workforce Development at 1-800-891-6499.

In addition to Workone Centers and access via personal computers, WorkOne Southeast offers WorkOne and DWD access through WorkOne Access Points located in Ohio Franklin Counties..

The process for filing Unemployment Insurance claims at WorkOne Centers:

If filing your Unemployment Insurance claim at a WorkOne Center, you will be required to enter your information via a computer terminal.

STEP 1. Be prepared:

Due to the recent high volume of unemployment claimants, the wait for service may be lengthy. Processing time averages about 45-60 minutes. Please allow yourself enough time to complete the process.

STEP 2. You must have and bring with you:

  1. Your complete name and address
  2. Social Security number
  3. Personal identification: Drivers license or photo ID
  4. Your most recent employer’s name and address
  5. The dates you worked for your most recent employer
  6. The reason you are unemployed

STEP 3. Indiana Department of Workforce Development processes your claim.*

STEP 4. You may also be required by Indiana law to register for work through our job matching system, www.indianacareerconnect.com

STEP 5. A WorkOne counselor will:

  • Help you sign-up for your benefits
  • Inform you of training opportunities
  • Help you enroll in the WorkOne system

Filing Online

If filing your Unemployment Insurance claim online:

STEP 1. Access Uplink CSS(Uplink Claimant Self Service) from any PC with web access and a web browser application.

STEP 2. Before logging into Uplink CSS, or visiting a WorkOne Center or Access Point location to access Uplink CSS, you will need the following information.

  1. Your Complete name and address
  2. Social Security number
  3. Personal identification
  4. Your most recent employer’s name and address
  5. The dates you worked for your most recent employer
  6. The reason you are unemployed

STEP 3. Indiana Department of Workforce Development processes your claim.*

STEP 4. You may also be required by Indiana law to register for work through our job matching system, www.indianacareerconnect.com.

* NOTE: After you enter your claim, either online or at a WorkOne Center, it may take between 7 and 10 business days for the DWD to process the claim, plus 3-4 weeks to issue your benefits and mail out your debit card. For more information, or to check on your status, please call: 1-800-891-6499
